About MeHello, my name is Shuree Enkhbold. I have been studying piano for the past 25 years and have dedicated my life to being the best possible pianist and teacher. I hail from the great country of Mongolia, and came to the United States 10 years ago to continue my piano journey. I have been teaching for the last 15 years, students both young and old and everyone in between! In addition to teaching, I am a professional pianist and have received several prizes from international piano competitions and have played with the Lynn University and Mongolian Philharmonic Orchestra. I completed my Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Arizona. As a "Doctor of Music", I have a full and comprehensive understanding of all aspects of piano playing and teaching. It is my goal to use my knowledge and experience I have accumulated over the years to give my students the best possible teaching and get the most out of their time and energy. When not playing piano or teaching, I love exploring the beautiful mountains around Tucson and playing with my dog, Scarbo, who's named after the third movement of Ravel's piano suite, Gaspard de la Nuit. I can’t wait to get to know you more and help you get the most out of the wonderful gift of music.

Teaching PhilosophyMy teaching is rooted in the belief that every individual is unique. I pay careful attention to student's unique qualities so that I can help the student to achieve their goals. My instructional process is flexible with a concern for individual differences and for problem solving and discovery. My method of teaching is a synthesis of styles observed throughout my studies. My goal is to create well-rounded musicians who are both technically fluent on their instruments as well as being globally aware of their potential impact as an artist. Achieving this will result in a performer who isn’t bound by technical limitations, but is instead free to express their artistic ideas.

TestimonialsWe love Miss Shuree! Our kids look forward to their weekly lesson and are very motivated to practice to please her. My son and daughter take back to back lessons and Shuree sometimes takes a different approach with the two of them to best get them both to focus and learn. She’s funny and the kids adore her. It’s been a wonderful start to our piano journey. What I like about Shuree is that she encourages me even when I make mistakes. She’s very patient and is always challenging me to do better. She presents me with additional techniques or approaches when I’m stuck on one particular tune or section. I get to play music that appeals to me. When I start to lose my way Shuree has the knack to get me re-focused on my goals and recapture the reason I started piano lessons. Her selections of additional books have always helped with just an area of music I needed. Shuree makes me want to practice so I won’t disappoint her I highly recommend taking piano lessons with Shuree Shuree knows her job very well. She is talented and experienced. You go through so many challenges while learning piano. She patiently walks you through to come over them. You cannot believe how key points she mentions improves your skills. I had a great experience with her being my piano teacher. Shuree is a patient and kind teacher. She helped me develop skills to learn piano, and moreover, music on my own. I struggled with coordinating my hands, but, under her guidance, I was playing complicated pieces of music in little time. She can work with people at any level of piano performance. She is knowledgeable about technique, and music theory. I would recommend her to a friend, because she is so cool. I began taking piano lessons with Shuree about a year ago, and she has helped me develop greatly as a musician since then. Her approach to teaching was very effective. She encouraged me to think at the music in a thoughtful and critical manner, which is an incredibly important skill to have for a musician. I recommend her studio to anyone seeking to develop their artistic abilities on the piano. |
I have been taking lessons with Shuree for about 1.5 years now so this is an updated review. She is very knowledgeable and will continue thinking of different ways to explain things until I can understand it clearly. The more I progress through a piece, she will show me different ideas to bring the piece to life that I probably never would've discovered on my own, such as how to phrase and voice passages. She also shows me how to achieve the proper tone and colors for the piece that I am learning and ensures I am using the proper techniques. I am very happy having her as a teacher and will continue lessons as long as I can. Best piano teacher ever! Glad we found her. My daughter has been taking piano lessons here for the past couple of years. When she started she was a mid “B” student and really had to work hard to maintain that average. Today she has a 4.0 GPA and she makes it look easy. Her concentration and discipline to learn has also improved tremendously. |
