Teaching Philosophy

Picture
My teaching is rooted in a belief that every individual is unique. I pay careful attention to the students unique qualities so that I can help them achieve their specific goal. My approach is to serve as a resource person and a coach to address the needs of the student.  It makes my instructional process flexible regarding individual's learning style, practice schedule and priorities. My day-to-day process is to cover musical concepts and materials mainly focusing on improving the technique and giving necessary feedback/guidelines to ensure the best results. My long-term goal is to create well-rounded musician who is not only technically fluent pianist but also a performer with artistic ideas to communicate with. I make sure my students are working towards their goals where they  feel "self rewarded" by their accomplishments  and motivated by the progress they have made.

We create memories

Piano playing is performance art. We learn the most by performing. It's recommended to participate the Studio Recitals where all of my students play. In addition, the students can do their own Solo Recital at my studio. Working towards recitals make us better musicians. It's a great way to assess your skills and progress.
